Chapter 65

You decide to be
extra careful and put the earmuffs on your ears before selecting the choice
that says “Mandrake”.  The magical
barrier shuts down and you see a plant resembling tobacco. That’s good; it
means you’re safe from the mandrake’s cries, unless you decide to uproot it of
course. So you take off the earmuffs.

Your
mandrake is a small one at fifteen centimetres, but it could grow up to forty
centimetres.

You have
read that the under the leaves, the plant is shaped like a parsnip with
wrinkled roots in the shape of a being. You also know that the Mandrake can
cause hallucinations, comas and put people into dreamlike states. Uprooted
mandrakes also have the ability to cause death with their screams; hence why
you need to wear earmuffs when handling them.

If a person
slips into coma after contact with a mandrake, the area of contact should be
washed and a healer should be immediately sent for in order to administer a
tandisu injection.

You also
recall that mandrakes can be used in sleeping potions, love potions and in a
potion to revive petrified people.

You follow
with your exploration and stop in front of the next plant. This one however
does not have a riddle, but a warning.

“This plant
likes to squeeze and strangle you until you stop moving. It may very well try
to leave its enclosure, keep your wand ready.”

If you
prepare yourself to cast a Lumos Maxima, go to Chapter 72.

If you prepare yourself to cast a Reducto, go to
Chapter 71.
