Chapter 123

You select
the choice that says “Wormwood”.  The
magical barrier flickers out of existence and you can see a plant with leaves
between two and eight inches and that you know has wood-like roots. Your
wormwood is on the small side with a height of one metre, but you expect that
with proper care it will grow to reach its max height of two metres.

You remember
that wormwood, as well as being an ingredient of the Draught of Living Death,
is also used in potions to help with digestive disorders and treat fevers, gall
bladder and lover disease. The properties of this plant include the ability to
induce sweating, stimulate the imagination, increase hunger, settle the stomach
and act as a counter-irritant. Furthermore, the wormwood leaves and flowers can
be placed on the skin for dulling the pain of wounds such as insect bites.

You then
follow your exploration and stop in front of the next magical barrier. The riddle
reads:

“A muggle
plant we are, yet both muggles and wizards use us for anti-depressant
purposes.”

If you
answer “Lily Plants”, go to Chapter 132.

If you answer “St. John’s wort”, go to Chapter 140.
