Dear diary,
Uncle Vernon's a LUNATIC! Because of the letters. He HATES them. Remember when I told you about the boat? You do? Good! We got on and sailed here. It's freezing. Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia are sleeping in the bed in then other room; Dudley's sleeping on the sofa and I am sleeping on the floor with the most ragged blanket in the place. I've been watching Dudley's watch and it's 10 seconds till my birthday. 9......... 8............7.......! Was that a knock?! 6.......... 5............. 4........! The door's coming down. 3........... 2............ 1! BANG! A giant stepped in. Dudley woke up and murmured "Fire the cannons!" stupidly. The giant said "'Appy birthday 'arry!" I thought of about a million questions but I said "Who are you?"
