Because I don't belong here.
Chapter 1
’why?’ I asked no other then me. “Why no point!” answered myself to myself. ‘You are right.’ I said to myself. “Yes I am always right!” said self smugly. ‘Shut up! Sense when have you been right about anything?’ I declared to again none other then me. I couldn't believe I was talking to myself, over stupid thing to! So I closed this, as self had said, pointless book and went to sleep with the timer set for half an hour. I glanced at the clock it’s 2:11 am. I had the right to be tried. I wish sleep was that easy, but no. sleep never come. After many, many hours of fruitless staring of the ceiling I said to myself once more. ‘This is pathetic. I should at least try to do the potion book thingy!’ “no no no” self reassured me. “Trust me continue starting at the ceiling. It will work.” ‘fine.’ i sighed to myself and went back to the hopeless 'staring at ceiling'. After half an hour of more depressing ceiling staring I finally ignored self, who was yelling for me to go back to ceiling staring, I opened the potion book and started reading.
"BRODY! BRODY!" yelled the cheerful, yet incredibly annoying, voice of my best friend Janie. Who had woken me up by shoving me off the bed. "What do you want now?" I grumbled I had fallen asleep with the book still in bed. I was the worst morning person the world had ever met, at least as far as Janie and my other friend Brandon said. "Get uppp all ready!" Janie wined well trying dragging me up from the floor. Witch was funny because she was the weakest kid in the first year. First year. "TODAY'S OUR FIRST CLASS!" I yelled scaring Janie so she fell over. "Oh my god, i'm sorry!" I said and started to help her up, but she... was laughing? Girls could be so weird sometimes. "T-that was the fastest I-I've EVER seen you wake up!" She choked leaning on the bedside table for support. "How do you know?" I said hiding my smirk as I bent over to get my robes out of my trunk. "You've only known me for, what, half a year?" walking over to the bathroom to change. I felt weird to change in front of people, even my close friends that are boys. "I HAVE TO KNOW YOU FOR OVER A YEAR YOU-" but she was cut of when the Gryffindor Prefect came in. I think his name is Percy? I have no clue how I ended up in Gryffindor of all places, i'm not mad or anything but I've NEVER felt even the smallest bit of brave! Janie says I'm probably the most brave out of our whole group. I've got now idea were she got that from, but them again Janie is... a bit odd? She keeps going on about Wrackspurts and Nargels as a way to be "unable to finish potion essay, because I just KNOW i'm going to be awful at that!" Well the Prefect scolded Janie for swearing(even though she didn't do anything wrong but I didn't want to interrupt a Prefect, again, not brave) I got dressed and didn't even bother looking in the mirror. I looked like a wreck no mater how much I tried. I learned not to care around the age of six, by my dear mother. Sarah Lee. A different last name to mine because she split with my father when I wasn't even two. And right after having my younger brother. My mother had given me the small scars all over my face and arms with knifes some nails (mostly rusty, and never bothering to buy a cure) sometimes she would through me into the wall for "daring to talk to her." When I was brushing my teeth I caught my reflection and sighed. As my hair normally was, light brown, curly and slightly buzzed on the sides. My brown eyes went down to my robes, they were wrinkled. I sighed again, trying to smooth them out. It didn't work, like most things in my life. "BRODYYY!" Janie yell/wined from the bedroom. "HURRY UP! WE'RE LATE FOR BREAKFAST!" after Janie let me leave the room(she was holding the door knob, I let her do things like that for her satisfaction.) I grinned and said. "You could've gone without me you know." "GO WITHOUT HIS MAJESTY?!" she yelled as we entered to common room. "NEVER! HOW COULD YOU!" even though her face was full of rage I could tell she was having the time of her life. I laughed. Apparently it was the wrong thing to do. Janie doesn't really get her revenge right away, she remembers it for years and THEN she does something about it. I learned this when I woke up in the lake near where I lived, somehow Janie found out I lived there and did this because 'I didn't let her skip Math two months ago.' Holding open the magical portrait I shoved her out and said. "You can stop yelling now, and thanks to you we might miss breakfast and our time tables." walking down the hall she screeched "NEVER! THIS YOUR PUNISHMENT!" "For what?" I said, faking shock. "FOR BEING A-!" she thought for a moment. Then said concentrating "I don't know." "See i'm innocent!" "NO YOU ARE NOT!" she yelled mad again. "OK name one time I wasn't innocent." she paused standing in the hall and sighed. "FINEEE!" and the her pale hand grabbed my wrist and she started running. "Where are we going?" I yelled. "To the Great Hall you idiot!" she yelled back at me. "We'er going to miss time tables!" Her dark brown hair was in a wild braid and flying around as she pulled me through the halls. "Do you even know where the Great Hall is?" I asked. "Duh you git!" as she flung me in front of two huge doors I ask confused. "When did you memorize this place?" "Just because YOU were half asleep walking to our dorms last night doesn't mean I was!" and she pushed open the doors. "And I might have gone out after hours to explore a bit." Janie whispered in my ear. My eyes widened. "That's against the rules Janie!" but she wasn't listening, pointing to the Gryffindor table and said bouncing a little on her feet. "Look! Just on time!" for Professor Mcgonagall was passing out sheets of paper. We ran over, well Janie ran but I didn't want to get in trouble on my first day so I just walked faster than normal. "Sorry Professor!" I hear Janie mutter pretending to be sorry. I'm honestly shocked that she wasn't in Syltherin she's so good at acting. When Professor Mcgonagall turned away I saw Janie grin in a relieved way. She rushed over to me and clutched my arm sinking to the floor and gasped dramatically. "DOUBLE POTIONS! FIRST CLASS OF THE DAY! THIS WILL BE THE END OF ME!" "Janie!" I laughed. "Come on we have to find Brandon." as we walked to the table I saw him waving use over. "Come ONNNNN! It's fine to run! At least I think it is, I didn't get in trouble for it earlier." Janie gave up after seeing some of her other friends. Walking over I heard Brandon talking to his twin Anah about witch class was the most exciting or something. I have no clue how their twins they look nothing alike. Brandon has blond hair and tan skin with blue eyes while Anah has dark skin, black hair with red tips and black eyes "Brody!" Brandon said loudly interrupting Anah who was talking about... Charms class I think? I wasn't really paying attention. "Great we need you to tell use-" "Another useless fight?" I cut across him. "I already said I'm not apart of ANY of it." "IT IS NOT USELESS!" flared Anah. I could see why her and Janie were friends, both of them over happy about everything and refuse to admit they were wrong. Ever. "We need you to tell us if defense against the dark arts or charms would be better." Brandon said shoving Anah out of the way so he could reach the pancakes. "But it's CHARMS!" said Anah glaring at Brody. "RIGHT?" "um... sure. I kinda thought Broom's would be the best." "Just because you love sports does not mean we all do!" smirked Janie walking over with her friend Emilia. I never really got along with Emelia so most of the time it's just Brandon, Janie, Anah and I but I think that Emilia will be around more often now with all the magic. Janie's muggle born so she was a little nerves before coming, but that doesn't mean she didn't go to Diagon Alley the day she got the owl(she did, with Eve, Emilia and I because her parents didn't know it was a school of magic and they would kill her before letting her go to Hogwarts) Janie sat down next to me and snatched a handful of bacon and started eating as dignified as possible."Anah, Eve!" she pouted. "did you SEE? Double potions is the FIRST CLASS! And on a Monday to." she grumbled. "It'll be fine." I heard Emilia reassure her. "It might be a little like...um." "Don't talk to me." Janie snapped. "Why?" I asked ignoring the new fight breaking between Brandon and Anah. "No one is aloud to talk to me in my misery." Janie cried with her head in her arms.
