It was a fine day, Jumper the hamster awoke brightly that morning. He waited for Chloe and Tony, his owners to wake up. “I can’t wait for another day!”, He spoke to himself.Tony woke up, grinning. He got into his slippers and walked to his sister’s room. “Chloe! Wake up! It’s time to say morning to Jumper!”, he said. The boy was excited. Chloe groans at her brother’s excited yelling, but Tony ignored it.Unlike her, he was the happy one. “C'mon! Let’s go say hi to Jumper!.” “How about you say it yourself?”, Chloe said, groggily. Tony’s shoulders slumped. Why oh why did his sister have to be so grumpy in the morning?. He walked to Jumper’s cage, and opened the latch, picking the hamster up. “Morning, Jumper!”. Jumper twitched his whiskers in joy.
Tony then walked back to Chloe with the hamster, imitating a hamster voice. He knew it worked on her each morning. “Good morning Chloe.”.Chloe saw Jumper, “Morning, Jumper”, she said. Jumper twitched his whiskers again, glad that he cheered her up. Chloe reached out her hands to take her beloved hamster from her brother.Tony smiled. “See? A good dose of Jumper always brightens your mood.”, He laughed. Chloe rolled her eyes at him. “I guess so.” Within a second, Jumper had peed on Chloe’s hand, a sign that meant “I’m not into this. Put me down”. “Eww! Tony! Please take him, I’m going to wash my hands!”, she said, disgusted. “He doesn’t like it when we argue. You know that Chloe.”, Tony argued, taking Jumper away from her hands and almost laughed at the hamster pee on her hands. Chloe went to the bathroom to wash her hands. “Kids, school starts in about 20 minutes! Hurry up!”, said their father, Ray Ravenwood. “Okay, dad!”, Chloe hollered then went back to her room to get ready while Tony was already dressed and put Jumper back to his cage. When Chloe came in, Tony smiled. “Jumper peed on your hand, Jumper peed on your hand!”, he teased her, laughing with glee. Chloe was furious, “Oh, just shut your mouth, Tony.”, but Tony still laughed about it.“Kids, your lunch boxes are on the table! Hurry up!”, Their father shouted. If they missed the bus, he wouldn’t have time to drive them to school then to work.Tony looked at Jumper, “Bye, Jumper. Be a good hamster. Oh… and pee on Chloe’s foot next time.”, he grinned.“Hey! That’s not funny at all!”, Chloe complained. Tony laughed. He was already at the stairs before she could slug him with her backpack, “Say bye to Jumper, you scaredy-cat!”. He called from downstairs. Jumper squeaks a goodbye to Chloe. She says goodbye to the hamster and leaves for school. As the kids left, and as soon as Jumper was sure they were downstairs and out the door. He opened his cage latch and crawled out through a window that was left opened. He scurried to the ground, which is when he was faced by a not-so-close enemy, Jagged the cat. Jumper shuddered. Jagged liked chasing rodents a lot, including Jumper. “Uh… Hi, Jagged?” Jumper squeaked in fright. “H-How are y-you?”.“Oh, it’s the little hamster again? I’m good, how about you?”, Jagged answered.“I-I’m also good.”Jumper said, “Were you looking for s-s-something?”, he asked.“Yes, I was looking for YOU!”, Jagged said, ready to attack Jumper.“Please… oh please… I beg you Jagged… Spare me!”, Jumper said, he was more frightened since his mother had been killed by a cat. Jagged pawed him. Jumper started to run while Jagged pursued him. Jumper ran, as if his paws were on fire until he came to a trash bin and hid behind it. He saw that Jagged had stopped chasing him. Frightened and lonely, and cold, he wished that Tony and Chloe was there with him. Several minutes later, still hiding, Jumper heard a noise coming towards him, he was ready to run. It wasn’t Jagged nor another cat, it was a skunk. The skunk noticed the small rodent, “Oh, hi little fella”, she said.“H-Hi… I’m lost and I’m trying to escape from a cat…”, Jumper said to the skunk.“Oh, don’t worry. I’ll help you. What’s your name?”, the skunk asked.“I'm Jumper, what’s your name?”, Jumper said.“My name is Yuri, nice to meet you, Jumper”, The skunk answered.“Nice to meet you too” Jumper replied with a happy twitch of his whiskers. He had made it out alive, all his fur still attached.
