Mistakes
Chapter 4
I woke up and stretched, running a hand through my hair. I glanced around and saw that I was in my room, and, judging my the snoring lump next to me, so was Sirius.
My face burned. How did he get in my bed? I thought as the memories of the last night came flooding into my head.
Butterbeer...Lots and lots of butterbeer. I shuddered and flopped over Sirius.
" Sirius...Wake up!" I said.
He grunted, and I sighed. Maybe I would just go back to sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
" Moony! Moony! Moony! Moony! Mooonyyy!!"
I woke up for the second time to Sirius sitting on my waist, whacking me with my own pillow. He grinned.
" You're finally awake! Took ya a million years!" Sirius said, not moving.
I snatched the pillow from his grasp and chucked it at the wall, where it slid down and hit the floor with a thud.
" Hey! Why'd you throw that? " Sirius whined, then his eyes lit up. A devious smile played on his lips. " Oh. I get it! Yep, I know exactly what's going on. One, you're grumpy. Two, because you're hungover!" He laughed.
I sighed and rolled my eyes. Sirius laughed quietly. Then, he leaned down closer to me.
" Do you remember last night?" He whispered.
I took a shaky breath, suddenly feeling self-conscious. I hadn't shaved in at least a day...I probably looked like a wild animal...Oh, no...My breath probably smelled...
" Uhm...yes." I said, my voice barely audible.
Sirius swallowed, and I noticed he was shaking. I wrapped my arms around him, and pulled him closer yet to me.
"Yes." I said, louder.
And then, I leaned forward and kissed Sirius for the second time in my life. Actually, the third time, but that didn't matter.
Sirius nestled his hands in my hair and kissed me back. Then...he pulled away.
" I've...got to go, Remus." Sirius said, getting out of bed and pulling on a shirt.
I sat up. " Why?"
He shook his head. " Don't worry about it. It was a mistake to stay here. So, I'll ask you again: Do you know any good hotels?" Sirius said, his eyes sad.
I looked away. It felt like he had slapped me. A mistake...?
I shook my head, refusing to make eye contact.
Sirius then walked out of the room, left without saying good-bye.
A mistake...?
