Chapter 1
SARA POV:

Sometimes, I feel like my life's supposed to be better. But no, my family treats me like a maid even though that was against the law years ago. Let me tell you how I look like. I have straight reddish brown hair, and hazel eyes. My hair's medium length. But I can't do anything else to it otherwise my siblings would say that I copied them. I have four siblings. One's older than me, and the rest are younger. My sister, Bianca the pretty brat, is going her last year of Hogwarts and is 17. Then there's me, 16. Then Derrick, 13, Abby, 11, and, Hannah, 7. There's a reason my family thinks I'm a disgrace. I'm a squib, which means that I do not have magical powers, even though I'm with a magical family. I have a pure-blood family. Just because I'm a squib, they hate me! I'm always mistreated.
"Hey! Give me back my wand you torturous not goody!", said my older sister Bianca, her big golden-brown curls jumping up and down as she hopped around in one place. "Sorry. I was just moving it out of the way while I was cleaning your darn pink room.", I said, rolling my eyes. Bianca gave me a dirty look and snatched her wand away from me. I sighed. Then I went to clean Derrick's room once I was done with Bianca's.
"Yo! Wake up! Rise and shine baby boy!", I said to the dumb kid. He lay in bed still. It was nearing the end of summer vacation, and Derrick was fast asleep in bed in eleven o'clock in the morning. I went to his bed, knelled down, and screamed in his ear, "WAKE UP!", I screamed, causing my younger brother to suddenly sit up in bed, bewildered. I laughed, his curly dark brown hair was a mess!
"I was up the whole time, I just didn't want to wake up. And, why'd you call me 'baby boy'? I'm 13!", he said in a grumpy voice. I smiled. Derrick was my favorite sibling. And I think I'm his favorite too. Out of all my siblings, Derrick is the nicest to me. Sure, he sometimes still could be a little jerk, but not like the others! "I called you a baby boy since you sleep as much as a baby newborn does, you little jerk!", I said, leaping on his bed and ruffling his curly hair. He started to laugh. But then I looked around his room and remembered my chores. "Well, gotta clean your room. Go downstairs and have breakfast Derrick. And tell mom that I finished cleaning Bianca's room.", I said, getting off his bed. "Nah, it's fine, I'll clean my own room.", he said, surprising me. Okay, he's never been that nice! "Um, are you okay? What happened after all these years? You suddenly want to stop treating me as a maid? I like that. Though, I would like it if you spread the message. ", I said, saying my last sentence slowly. He pushed me out of his big blue room, and closed the door. Strange. But whatever, that's fine with me. I had cleaned everybody else's room the day before, and was ready for some breakfast right now.
"Good morning mother! I did all the chores you told me to do! I started at 8 and finished right now, 11:30. So let me have some quick breakfast before I help with lunch, okay?", I asked kindly. My mother looked at me. "Good morning Sara. Have breakfast for 10 minutes then go to the garden and plant the new petunias we bought for Hannah. Quick!", she said, giving me a quick kiss on my forehead and going upstairs. Okay, I know, maybe my family isn't that mean, but all my siblings beside Derrick are! My mom's a movie star. Christina Melvet Sillthorn. She had run upstairs wearing a gold dress, probably getting ready for her big premier, even though she had lots of time! I guess I'm making lunch by myself today. But first, I went outside to plant the petunias. But the thing was, Hannah should've planted them! I mean, if they're her flowers, she should plant and water them, not have me doing all the work, they might as well be my flowers! I headed outside.
Then I saw him. Jack. Jack's our neighbor, and he's a wizard. He's a year older than me, and he was leaning on his side of the wooden fence that separated our houses. I cleared my throat, taking my gardening gloves off. He turned around. He took a double-take at me. "Oh, hi, Sara! Didn't see you there. What's up?", he said. And, was that him blushing? I'm pretty sure it is! "Oh, not much! Just the usual, you know, planting flowers for other people?", I said, walking closer to him and putting my hands on top of the fence. We stared at each other for a few seconds. But we were interrupted. "Why, Sara! What are you doing! You know your'e not allowed to talk to neighbors! Silly Sara. Why hello, Jack! Are you ", said Bianca, pushing me to the floor. She looked at Jack. Jack looked at me, a look of empathy on his face, seeing me on the floor. I got up and went to the garden, mad at Bianca.
