Professor Berlin's Speech

Chapter 4
Our Headmaster knew about Dylan's death. We all knew about it now. I needed to know what I could do to be called 'innocent'. I thought about staying in my dorms all day where no one could find me except my roommates. I then decided that would be no good. People would realize I'm missing and then, they would eventually find me. So check that off the list!

I thought of many other ways. Most of them were really stupid. I realized that the only real way to be called 'innocent' would be to move along like every other day. But, that wasn't going to be too fun. Today I was expected to attend Dylan's funeral and light our wands for him! Why would I do that?

I arrived at the funeral very early. I had no idea why I did it but, I came 15 minutes early. I checked my watch, "Ugh! It's only 9:15! The funeral starts in 15 minutes!" After that, I walked back to my common room. It was empty. I checked my watch again. This time it was 5 minutes after 9:30! Ugh.

I ran across the hall as quick as I could to the funeral. Luckily, nothing had happened yet. I rushed to a chair and sat down. Professor Berlin placed Dylan into his coffin. So boring. Then she went along with her annoying lectures, "Dylan was a good kid. He was always there to help kids when they needed it. He never hesitated to give compliments to students. He was always willing to be friends with whoever." Ugh. What if she knew what he did to me? That would certainly change her speech.

After her boring lecture, she made us light our wands for the guy I killed! That's horrible of her. I wanted to rebel, so I didn't light my wand. He deserved it.
