The Secrets to Learning the Darkest Magic

Chapter 2
My love reputation was only going to grow. You might think bullying Muggle-borns would be enough for a first year like me but, my age wouldn't stop me. It was my talent that mattered.

I saw Julie smirking when I passed by her in the hallway. I always saw her like this nowadays but, something seemed different. She was wearing a expression I had never seen on her face before. She gestured to follow me so, I did.

She lead us to our dorms which didn't seem too exciting. Julie pulled out a dusty book. "This my friend", she said, "is the book we have been waiting for." She blew off the dust and I examined the title. "The Secrets to Learning the Darkest Magic." This was going to be awesome.

It seemed like it would teach you how to perform the three unforgivable curses plus other things like Horcruxes. I eagerly opened the book. The table of contents had many dark secrets. I turned to the chapter with the unforgivable curses.

"Okay", I said, "Which one of these curses is the easiest?" She replied, "The Imperius Curse is the easiest but, that's not what we're looking for, right? Let's try the Cruciatus Curse. It's the second easiest and most important to us." I was excited to try the curse but, there was one problem: there was no one to try it on. Julie was the only other person in the room and why would I want to hurt her?

I decided to go from theory. "Alright", I said, "The incantation is Crucio. Already knew that. Wand movement: point your wand at the victim. Seems simple enough. Concentration: the higher focus, the more pain. We are going to have SO much concentration. Willpower: same directions as the concentration. We should be able to do that. But, we need to really want to put pain in the victim. It will only work like that."

I was surprised the directions were so simple. It looked like such an easy curse to cast. But, that wasn't bad or anything. It was actually wonderful.
