Medecine Cat
Chapter 8
The medecine cats are the cats that heal others, they are responsible to make sure everyone stays healthy.
A medicine cats duty is to make sure that everyone is tended to after a battle and to try that nobody dies. They pay attention to the elders and queens to make sure their healthy and thriving.
It's also the Medicine Cats job to stay in contact with StarClan, they watch out for signs and recieve prophecies. They visit the Moonpool/Moonstone every half moon and consult with their ancestors.
They have to know all the herbs and remedies and be prepared at all times, they must know where every plant is and be able to stock up for leafbare.
But just like warriors, medicine cats have to be apprentices before becoming a full medicine cat. But unlike warriors, the period for a medicine apprenticeship takes much longer that a warriors because they must be completly prepared and ready. They must know every remedy and herb and know how to use them, they must be able to consult with StarClan and recieve their signs. Theres a lot to it, mind you.
The medicine cat is also the main advisor to the leader, they are present at the giving of the leaders 9 lives. They speak with the words of StarClan and are wise.
Even when an Apprentice gets his medicine cat name, he will never be a true medicine cat until his mentor, the previous medecine cat, dies.
They also have one rule that is only for them, they are forbidded to take on mates and have kits. This rule exists so that the Clan is their focus, they should never be forced to chose between the two.
