Animagi Definition.
Chapter 1
An Animagus (plural, Animagi), is a witch or wizard who can turn into an animal. If the witch or wizard can produce a Patronus, their Animagi form is likely to be the same form as their Patronus. An Animagus must register themselves with the Ministry of Magic, or they might go to Azkaban.
