Eight Years Later
---------------------------------

As I stepped from the Hogwarts Express for the last time, I felt an odd feeling of loss. I had completed my magical education and had graduated, to continue my Muggle education in order to become queen of England. Though I was also very happy, which confused me. I supposed I should be happy, shouldn't I? I had graduated with full O.W.L.'s and N.E.W.T.'s, and was permitted to take any job I wanted in the Wizarding World. Then again, I didn't have much of a choice in that matter. Though I had applied to become a healer, being born in the royal family meant I had no choice but to become queen to England, and though I had siblings, the were my half-brother and sister, and therefore had no right to the throne, being not related by blood. It was my duty, and could not stand down from it. Ivy waved from nearby, andI sadly waved back. She would see me, perhaps on posters plastered or Muggle television, but I may never see her again. She had been my oldest and most loyal friend at Hogwarts. I was pained to say good-bye to her forever.
My new bodyguards waited just outside the barrier wall separating the Muggle King's Cross Station from Platform 9 3/4. I could not believe nearly eight years had passed since I was just beginning Hogwarts. I had learned so much, yet forgotten how it was like to be regular Muggle royalty, like King George IV. I still wished I had never been magic, though very much less so. I regretted being related to that idiot that called me granddaughter.
I, carrying my trunk and Elizabeth, ran through the barrier and my bodyguards immediately grabbed both of my arms. Servants took my trunk and Elizabeth and hid them from sight. They did not want the whole of England to think the English royal family were mental cases. They did not want to ruin out good reputation since the baffoon George IV died.
"We will have to discard of your magical supplies and all evidence of it when we get back to Buckingham Palace, Your Highness," my oldest maid Carrith, hence Carrie, whispered to me. I knew this was mandatory for me to continue my family's reign, though after seven years of being with magic, I was not quite ready for it to all burn in flames in front of my sight. Nevertheless, I could not betray Mother and Father. I nodded sadly, but quickly plastered a smile upon my face.
Upon reaching Buckingham Palace, my servants immediately closed the gate to hundreds of reporters and newsmen. They covered the windows with heavy foam to prevent the smell of burning smoke from escaping the fire, and tossed my trunk, though I kept my wand, into the flames. Next went Elizabeth's cage. I was not quite ready to let go of my loyal owl yet. My mother cast me a stern glance, and they threw Elizabeth in too, screeching and crying. Tears clouded my eyes, though I knew why they had done it. They were not attempting to be unkind or cruel. The royal monarchy and the whole of England was much more important than an old owl belonging to the Princess Victoria of the English monarchy. Carrie looked me in my eyes and said sympathetically, "I am sorry," though it was not her fault. She had done so much for me already, including persuading the monarchy to let me keep my wand. It was too much to ask her to do more.
"I have good news," Carrie said again. "You will continue studying magic medicals if you wish it, along with your royal responsibilities. We will buy you new books, specially made so only you can see them for what they are."
I was so overcome now with joy and tears, I hadn't thought about how much responsibility it would mean if I blended Muggle royalty with magic education before I agreed.
