Moving on to charms history!
Introduction
What is charms? Well, charms is what we cats interpret as, a simple spell that has special uses. For example, the weather changing charm can change weather.
The first thing we will be learning about, is a cat named Fernfall. She is an important historical figure, and is the founder of the matter changing charm, which we will learn today.
Fernfall's story
It was just one regular day as a medicine cat. Fernfall had to mix a special poultice for her patient, but it had frozen into ice. Now, lets add in "matter changing". This is why Fernfall needed this spell. As we all know, there are three states of matter: solids, liquids, and gases. Since ice is a solid, Fernfall needed to change it into a liquid. This is the basic on how Fernfall founded the spell and why she needed it.
Spellcasting
Before we actually cast a spell, lets talk about the three main components that will make the spell work.
Willpower- depends on the spell, sometimes you need a lot, and sometimes you just don't need it.
Concentration- some spells need it, or it won't work.
Incantation- It is important to pronounce this right, or the spell will either fail or backfire
Lets start learning the Matter changing charm. Now, you may think: What?! Thats considered simple? Well, matter changing is simply melting or freezing something, solid to liquid, or liquid to solid. Now lets learn that spell!
Incantation: Upendi (You-Pend-EE)
wand movement: spin your wand in a slow clockwise circle, then flick up
willpower: moderate
concentration: very little
Conclusion
Well, that wraps up our first charms class! Remember to complete your quiz and study your notes! The essay is optional. See you all next class!
