Chapter Nine - Hogwarts without Cedric

Chapter 9
That year I went with everyone on the train. I was taken on the guys that I were someone’s pet puppy. Leaving Sirius was hard. We had spent so much time together. I changed back to me again when we got to the castle. There was a new teacher. Someone from the Ministry. She was horrible, everything I’d been brought up to distrust. I went to see my uncle before the start of term and she followed me to his office, saying that I was already in trouble if I was going to see him. It turned out that she had no idea we were even related and we kept it that way. By October I was weak. The combination of high-level magic and not eating was taking its toll. It was breakfast one morning, and my uncle called me to the teachers table. I had to admit it. I had collapsed every lesson that week. We both knew he couldn’t touch me; he had a mark. He had backup though. George disfigured me. He was able to turn me to my original state and it wasn’t pretty. I don’t think anyone was really prepared for it. I was taken straight to the hospital wing. My uncle didn’t leave me for a second and I had various friends visit me such as Leanne, Harry, Ginny, Luna, Fred and Alice. On a combination of drugs. My body was failing pure and simple. I was then put on a concoction from the kitchen 4 times a day and was allowed back to class. I also had to promise never to hide my true form again.

The holidays were spent at the Black house. It was a really nice Christmas and Molly had been given recipes by the kitchen staff for me. I had fun, I loved being with the Weasley’s, after all these years I was practically one of them. I organised the boys jokes by giving them an even better box and business plan, Ginny and I were doing girly things and my uncle actually came for the holidays. We had fun. I had been told for a while to keep a distance with Harry and since we had never really become best friends it wasn’t that difficult. The day I left the Black house was the last day I saw Sirius.

Around 2 weeks later I was doing well. Which, when you are around teenage boys is sometimes off-putting, so it was quite a triumph. I went to see Arber on the edge of the Forbidden Forest and fell asleep in a clearing close by. I woke up because I heard someone laugh and it felt like someone was throwing rocks at me from the lake. I looked up and there were 5 death eaters around me all trying to curse me. I knew 1 was Lucius, I’m pretty sure 1 must have been Bellatrix just by the laugh. They thought they had caught a student. How they got in I have no idea. I know that they tried to kill me. I remember her asking me my name. I lied. I know my uncle came looking for me. I was trying to hide my face in case someone recognised me. He asked them what they were doing and that they would get caught. That he had to take the student back. All I had to show for it were a few burns. People thought I had been punished by Umbridge.

I had known for a while that Harry had been having lessons in occlumency lessons. I wasn’t surprised to be honest. I’d worked out that if I could hear things, then he could too and it was more than likely my uncle giving them to him as he had taught me. My time at school ended up being taken up with keeping out of the way of Umbridge, now Headmistress, protecting the school, it’s students and the creatures of the forest. It wasn’t the greatest time, but I was with my friends, and we were a powerful army together. It hadn’t even been a year after Cedric and Sirius was dead.
