The Other Snape
written by Louisa S R W
Biography and life story of Sarah Louisa Snape Riddle. This has been, in part a way for me to heal. I think it has done that. If you would like me to write more about certain aspects I will, but for now, I leave you with this.

Chapter Seven - TriWizard Tournament
Chapter 7
That summer was busy. We went to The Midsummer Feast, Paris and Bulgaria. I stayed at Cedric’s, Leanne’s and the Burrow. It was really hectic and this was the year I would be sitting my OWL’s. I managed to keep out of the way of my grandparents and spent quality time with my uncle. It was as though the clocks were reset.
When I went back to school my uncle spoke to both me and Cedric. He had already muted the idea of us not being together so I could concentrate on my exams more over the summer, which I understand at the time was probably wise. He called us into his office and said when I have done my exams and have good grades we can be back together. Nine months. Felt like it would take forever. We also got the news that we were hosting the Triwizard Tournament. I now understood why my summer had been busy, and why we had been with other professors. There was another Professor, Professor Moody, I wasn’t sure about him. After debating with me and his friends, Cedric put his name in and was selected.
The first round, was to do with Dragons. Charlie sent me an owl and I met him. The last time I saw him he was ready to study dragons and I was about to start Hogwarts. I ran and gave him a hug without thinking and then realised that Fred, George, Ron and Ginny were there too. I was being given “family” status. I couldn’t help but smile. I wished Cedric good luck and went to the edge of the Gryffindor section. They had to collect an egg. Task one complete.
Then we got told that there was going to be a Yule ball. All the girls were fretting about being asked by boyfriends or the champions, wearing the right dresses. I wasn’t even allowed to go to the ball with Cedric so I was dreading it. I was hoping to hide in the dungeons. I considered transfiguring but that was obvious. So, I went to the ball with a guy called Garit from Durmstrang. I even transfigured an amazing dress for myself that was a silver/black with stars on it. As I moved so did the stars. I danced with Garit for a bit then with my uncle for 1 dance. I imagine that is what the father/daughter dance feels like at a wedding. Then I went to be with my friends and he stood and looked on dutifully. Can I say it all went well? Certainly not. I saw Cedric dance with someone else and I found out that the person that actually had ask me had been handpicked by my uncle. Garit Prince is my cousin, of sorts. I didn’t take it well.
The second round was to be in the lake. Went ok.
My last few months with Cedric were happy bliss. Again, we told nobody that we were seeing each other. What people knew was really what they chose to notice. If our friends asked, we didn’t lie, but if teachers did then that was a different matter. I was getting those funny feelings again. I could tell that Professor Moody wasn’t himself. He had a transfiguration glow about him, but I couldn’t tell who it was. I tried to tell my uncle but he said that if I had no solid proof then there was nothing he could do. I had to work on disfiguring things. This involved getting friends to transfigure whatever they wanted without showing me and then I would return it to its natural state. It became a handy for Cedric. The fact that he thought people were stealing stocks from his store cupboard I would have thought would be enough.
The final round came and I was nervous and excited. I had my OWL’s in a week and I was all prepared. I was looking forward to so much this summer. We took our seats in the stands by the large maze that Professor Moody had constructed. It was an amazing thing that’s to be sure. I was sat next to Mr Diggory and near to my uncle. They said it would take a while and it did. No thanks from Fred and George though my selling strategy was working brilliantly. One by one they left the maze. Hogwarts was going to win but who would it be? Sometime later my uncle grabbed me and pulled me through the crowds as we were leaving, I saw Harry and Cedric with the cup. I remember the look that Cedric had on his face. It was on my mum’s and that greenish hue. He was dead.
