Chapter Fourteen - Say Goodbye?

Chapter 14
Time is time. People have tried to change it and failed. I tried. I found a time-turner in my vault and I decided to try and save the people I loved.

I started with Cedric. I went to the Tournament, transfigured myself so they didn’t recognise me, and sat in the stands. I watched myself look happy with my uncle and Mr Diggory. I saw Moody, well Barty, looking at his pocketwatch and I couldn’t do it. Instead I walked up to my uncle and told him to take Louisa away. I was the reason I never saw Cedric’s body. I got to say goodbye to him there though.

Then I went to the battle. I was sure that I could stop my uncle’s death even Fred’s. I tried to stop him going, to warn him. He showed me his arm. “I’m dead anyway”. I told him that I’d stay with him, so I transfigured. Whether he wanted me there or not was irrelevant.

For Fred, all I had to do was follow him. I wanted to save him but something told me to leave it. I was there to catch him when he fell and took him to the Great Hall. I healed those that I could but when all is said and done at least I said goodbye. I went home to Knockturn Alley. I never told anyone what I did.

In the following years many great things were to happen. Being so close to the large Weasley family there tend to be lots of occasions like that. I was also close to Draco. It all seems wrong but he became like a cousin to me. He understood the darker side of what we had been through.
