Guide To Survive In Hogwarts
And no, I am not talking about how to defend yourself. Not everyone gets to fight He-who-must-not-be-named in their first year at school, even though everyone wishes it. Now this is how to uphold a reputation at hogwarts because, seriously, who hasn't heard "My parents were part of the war and knew Harry Potter..." It's getting old. What are you going to say when he says it's not true? Let's just say you'd be screwed. So this is how you must uphold a reputation without being boring and unoriginal. Unless you want to be... Which is quite unlikely.

2.1 Slytherin
Chapter 4
This is incredibely important: Not every Slytherin is a jerk. I repeat, NOT EVERY SLYTHERIN IS A JERK. This House shows people with a cunning and competitive personnality. It is common knowledge that Slytherins are really intelligent which would explain their great manipulative and lying skills. Some records have shown that Merlin would have been sorted in this House.
Slytherins are good leaders. They show great ambition and they also have highly developed senses of self-preservation. This means that Slytherins tend to hesitate before acting, so as to weigh all possible outcomes before deciding exactly what should be done. They are not afraid to tell what's on their mind, which would lead their cheekiness and sass. I'm trying to stay neutral, but I was threatened into mentioning their sassiness, sorry.
Salazar Slytherin was the founder of this House. The qualities he was looking for in students were cleverness, resourcefulness, determination, and "a certain disregard for the rules." It is said he had a certain hate towards muggles and that blood purity is one thing the sorting hat has to check in order to enter Slytherin. However, it does not mean you will automatically get sorted into Slytherin if you are a pure-blood and that there is no muggleborns in this House, even if they are pretty rare.
If you have been told Slytherin is a bad house with all the self-centered people, then you have your informations wrong. There are jerks in every House, not just Slytherin. No house is bad, it is an identity to wear with pride, no matter where you end up.
