Chapter 4
Hermione took a deep breath as she walked out the castle doors again. Since it was dark and night had fallen, there was a cool breeze in the air, billowing across the grounds. The rustling of leafy trees and bushes were pleasant to Hermione's ears as she walked across the grounds to Hagrid's hut.

She banged on the door and called, "Hagrid!!"

The door burst open to reveal a large man standing in the doorway, looking down. "Yea, 'ermione?" he asked in a gruff voice. "Can I come in please?" she answered in a tired voice. "'Course ye can, 'Mione. Anythin' for ye." Hagrid stepped out of the way and Hermione stepped inside carefully. She shut the door behind her and sat down on a stool at the wooden table.

Hagrid bustle about at the counter and filled a kettle with water and tea leaves. "What brings ye 'ere, 'Mione? Summat trouble?" he asked, looking at her. Hermione sighed. "It's... complicated." "Lemme guess, Ron?" Surprised, Hermione looked up. "How do you know, Hagrid?" "Well, Harry came by me hut yesterday and told me. Said you and Ron had a fight and cause he cheated on ye?" Hermione started crying, tears flowing freely down her dry cheeks.

"Ruddy, 'Mione, don't cry. Didn't mean ter do that to ye!" The large man hurried over to Hermione and sat down next to her. Hermione looked up from the ground, her hair falling into her tear-streaked face. "Oh, that's not your fault, Hagrid. Ron's just a lying, cheating jerk!" she cried.

Hagrid, not knowing what to do, handed her a clean piece of cloth. "Don't ry, 'Mione. Yer the bravest witch I know and no one can take that away from ye. Don't let 'im get ye down, hear me?"

In a shaky voice, Hermione nodded and said, "You know I won't......" She trailed off at the sound of tapping at the door of the hut. "Who could be here now?" she wondered, slipping out her wand and standing up. Hagrid quickly got up, knocking over his tankard, and strode over to the door. "No worries, 'Mione. Probably just Professor Mcgonagall." He flung over the door and there, in the night, stood a tall and pale boy with his white blonde hair.

"Malfoy? What are you doing here?" Hermione gasped. She quickly stood up and walked briskly over to him. "Well, what are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be at dinner?"

"Um..... I came because I wanted to make sure you were alright?" he answered with a rise of a question at the end. "And why would ye want to make sure 'Mione's alright? Didn't know it was ye concern, Malfoy," Hagrid butted in, looking at Draco with a suspicious glance. Hermione stifle a little chuckle and was amused and surprised at what Draco said next. And, according to Hagrid's face, he was shocked too.
