Halloween
Chapter 5
In the muggle world Halloween was a holiday where you dressed up as fictional monsters. Here it felt as real as it could possibly get. I had never been a big fan of Halloween mostly because I knew that all the costume monsters that muggles made were actually monsters out there. Some friendly some not so friendly. Surprisingly muggles and magical people are like that too. The day started with the usual routine. I got to DADA and I knew something was up. The professor looked at me and smiled. She beckoned me to the front of the classroom. I knew this woman as she was one of the teachers that appeared in my dreams. She was one of the ones that helped the girl harm me. I knew that she despised my parents and that she hated me also. I was confused until I looked at the board and read "Hex". I shuddered at the memory of one student using the full body bind curse on me. The teacher looked at me and pointed her wand. I braced myself for the worst and eventually felt my legs tied together. I flinched. She untied my legs and told me to sit down. I sighed and did as I was told. Detention would only add to my problems and that wasn’t what I needed right now. I half listened half slept throughout the lesson. My nightmares were keeping me from sleeping properly and I tended to fall asleep in class more and more these days. I headed to my next classes in a trance and barely made it to the end of the day. When it came time for the feast a group of girls that mocked me a lot were dressed in the same outfits as me. They proceeded to call me names and say how I was so ugly I didn’t need a costume to go as a monster. I ignored them through the entire feast. I went to bed that night and had another nightmare. This one had a new figment. A pair of icy blue eyes watching and waiting.
