The First Week

Chapter 3
After the feast we went back to our dorms. The prefects told us how to get in and the rules of staying in the dorms. They also said that if anybody is to bully anyone then they will get reported. I heard the other students whisper about a girl who got bullied so bad she decided to move into the Shrieking Shack. I shuddered at the very thought and hoped I could keep a low profile and not attract any unwanted attention. I found my bed and unpacked my things. I had a strange dream that night of a mysterious figure waiting in the hallway with something in their hands. They were waiting to attack. I woke up in a cold sweat and decided to take an early morning stroll. I pulled on my robes, grabbed my notebook and pen, and headed out the common room door. I went down to the lake sketching my surroundings as I went. I flipped through my notebook and looked at my previous sketches from the Muggle World. There was one that I stopped on. It was a sketch of two girls. The older girl had her hand around the neck of the younger girl. I sat down against a tree. I couldn't put my finger on it but this girl looked familiar. I suddenly realized that it was me. I sat there in wide eyed shock at the sketch. The older girl was laughing and had picked the young me off the ground by my neck. I was failing about and tried to pry her fingers off me. It looked like I was crying from pain. I had also drawn the people that stood around us. They either wore expressions of laughter or they were emotionless. I had made one person in the crowd very noticeable. It was my old BFF Kristie. She was rolling on the floor with laughter. I slammed the notebook shut and walked to my classes. The week passed in a blur. My routine was the same everyday. Wake up, go for a walk, go to classes, eat lunch, go to more classes, get bullied in hallway, eat dinner, and sleep. The professor's noticed that I had been falling asleep in class and had dark circles under my eyes. When ever they would ask me what was wrong I would laugh nervously and say that I was just staying up late studying. In reality I had been having nightmares. The mysterious figure kept showing up in my dreams. The older girl from my sketch accompanied the figure and would choke me until I woke up. Kids would laugh and taunt me. I watched as all my "friends" laughed at my expense. I couldn't wait to get the week over with.
