Chapter 6
The moment I got onto platform 9 3/4 I started looking for a friend, anyone, Luna, Ginny, Harry, Ron or Hermione. I spotted Ginny and Harry but since they were dating, I didn't want to risk interrupting anything, so I continued my search. I knew Luna was around here somewhere, but there was no sign of her. I finally spotted Hermione standing on her own, I walked over to her. "Hi Hermione!" I said brightly, "Oh, hi Neville. Have you seen any of the others?" Hermione asked. "I saw Ginny and Harry but I didn't want to interrupt them." I said looking around for Ron and Luna. "Oh yeah, I understand." Hermione said looking around too. "Have you found your parents yet?" I asked. I looked at Hermione and saw that she had tears in her eyes. "N-no I haven't b-been able to f-find them y-yet!" she sobbed. I stepped toward her and comforted her, "You'll find them soon, It's ok, you will find them. You're the smartest witch I know! You WILL find them!" I say bracingly. "Th-thanks Neville, I k-know it's silly t-to cry but I'm j-just worried that I-I'll never find th-them!" Hermione cries. I can't think of anything else to say, I sort of used all of my pep talk in the first one, I had expected her to stop crying. "It's ok, you'll figure something out." I say making it up as I go. Then I'm struck with a stroke of inspiration, "Hermione, I know how you feel, my parents hardly remember me too." I say sure this will help more than my last pep talk. "Oh Neville, I-I've been so s-senseless! To talk a-about my parents n-not being able to r-remember me when th-they've at least b-been there for m-most of my l-life when you h-hardly know yours! I'm s-so sorry!" This is not what I had wanted, now I was making her feel bad. "It's ok Hermione! Where are you staying anyway?" I ask, trying to change the subject. "Well I've been s-staying with Harry. The Burrow is too full to take any more people so I had n-no choice." said Hermione, she stopped crying and looked at me. "How have you been over the summer Neville, I'm sorry to start crying over this, you just asked me a question and I've fallen to pieces." "It's fine Hermione. My summer was ok, I'm still mourning and I think I'm still in shock." Hermione nodded, then wiped her eyes on her sleeve. "Look! There's Ron!" She said.

Ron was walking towards us taller and more freckly than ever. "Hey Neville, how are you?" asked Ron, coming to a stop in front of them. "Not bad, how was your summer?" I replied. "Not to bad, everyone's missing Fred of course." He looked grim, "Anyway, Hermione have you found-'' but I cut across him, "Look there's Ginny and Harry, we should get on the train it's gonna leave in a minute." "Right," said Ron grabbing Hermione's hand and leading the way over to where Harry and Ginny stood. "We should get on the train." Hemione said, and she led the way onto the train. But there was no sign of Luna, hopefully she was already on the train. Once we were on the Hogwarts Express, we started looking for an empty compartment, and Luna.

We had looked through half of the compartments and still no Luna, the train was moving now and I was hoping Luna had made it onto the train. Hogwarts was so much funner with Luna there. Of course she made it on the train, she was at Kings Cross, I had seen her. I tried to stop worrying. Without Luna, Hogwarts wasn't Hogwarts. But I knew that Luna wouldn't want me to worry, she'd say something about how the wrackspurts had made me such a scared person and I'd just laugh not knowing how to respond to that. Thinking about this calmed me down, I turned to Ginny and said, "You do think Luna made it onto the train, don't you?" Even as I said it, I heard my voice shaking. "Of course, Luna wouldn't miss this for the world, and I know she must be eager to get away from her father's ruined reputation." Ginny said soothingly. "Yeah... of course..." I said more to myself than to Ginny. Harry looked into a compartment and leaped back in shock. I stepped forwards to see what it was and felt my jaw drop, Luna was sitting with Draco Malfoy!
