Chapter 19
When I entered the Great Hall for dinner I noticed that there was a lot of muttering. I sat down beside Makayla who was buttering her toast. I looked up from my porridge and dropped my spoon. Dolores Umbridge's ugly face was smiling innocently at me from the cover of the Daily Prophet. "Can I borrow this?" I asked, snatching the newspaper out of the boys hands. I scanned the front page and felt my jaw drop. I looked up at the Gryffindor table. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Neville were deep in conversation, Hermione and Neville were each holding copies of the Daily Prophet. I looked over at Makayla who had read the newspaper over my shoulder. Her look of horror matched my insides. They wouldn't send Makayla to Azkaban, would they? She's only a teenager.

Makayla and I left the hall to find an empty classroom. "You don't think they'll lock me up, do you?" Asked Makayla nervously. I shook my head, but I wasn't so sure. Umbridge had proven herself to be ruthless and horrible. We both stood there talking, neither believing a word of comfort that was said. Suddenly the door was thrown open. Three men stood there, the ministry logo on the front of their robes. We both stood still, fear flooded me.

"Which one of you is Makayla Carson?" One of the men asked. Neither of us answered. I subtly gripped my wand inside my pocket, but it was foolish to attempt to fight them. We were two teenage girls against three grown men. If I fought, I would be sent to Azkaban as well, at least the dementors were not the guards anymore. Two of the men pulled out their wands and pointed them at Makayla and I. "Me." Makayla breathed. The two men moved forward and grabbed her. I whipped out my wand and pointed it at one of the men's retreating backs, "Flipendo!" I said shakily. My spell missed by a couple of inches. The remaining man smirked, "You fancy playing the hero?" He said, then he laughed and followed the other two men out the door. I stood there alone felling as though I had lost everything.

I knew what I needed to do but I would need backup. I ran out the door and down the corridor. I finally spotted Draco leaving the Charms classroom. "Draco!" I yelled urgently, struggling to get to him through the crowd of students. "What is it?" He asked curiously as I reached him. "I need your help!" I said quickly. "With what?" He said seriously. "I can't explain now, meet me by the Whomping Willow!" I said already running off.

I ran around Hogwarts until I found Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny. I told them to meet me by the Whomping Willow then tore off down the marble staircase in search of Neville. I found him leaving the DADA professor's office. "What were you doing in there?" I panted as I came to a stop in front of him. "I was-" But I cut across him. "Never mind, follow me!" And I ran toward the entrance hall, Neville trying to keep up. I dashed down the front steps and sprinted to the Whomping Willow where I could see a small group of people waiting.

Once I reached the Whomping Willow I started explaining everything. "And I need all of your help to get her back." I concluded. I could hear the urgency in my voice. "Should we gather some thestrals again then?" Asked Ginny. I smiled at her.
