The House Cup
Chapter 12
Back at the Ravenpuff common room, I asked the members about Violet's accident, "Do you know if Violet's getting better?" Nobody said they knew anything. I thought about going to see Violet in the hospital wing. But, I couldn't do it. What if Violet wasn't getting better? I couldn't see that. "No Gryffindors or Slytherins allowed." I opened the door. Violet was standing outside the door looking just fine, except she had a big bruise on her forehead. "You ready for the House Cup Ceremony?" she asked. "Sure am", I replied. "Welcome to the Hogwarts House Cup Ceremony", Headmistress Warner said. "Right now Hufflepuff and Slytherin are tied in the lead with 200,089 house points. Ravenclaw's in second with 198,290 points. Gryffindor is in last place with a score of 176,895 points. Now, since we have a tie, would any of you professors like to hand out end-of-the-year house points?" Professor Hughes stepped up. He was head of Slytherin and wanted glory for Slytherin. "I would like to give out extra house points to Hufflepuff." I was happy now. "Also some to Ravenclaw. 20 to Elizabeth. 20 to Rachel. 20 to Violet. 20 to Brett. 20 to Amanda. 20 to Charlie. Twenty to Megan. And twenty to Jane. I am giving these points for special reasons. I chose those students for their academic level. Through out the years of my teaching, I have recorded the academic level of each student. Then, I make a graph comparing each student's level. Those students have had very high graphs. Not just higher than their peers, but the highest first year bars I have seen in years." "Thank you for stepping up, "Professor Warner said, "That gives Hufflepuff a total of 200,189 points to Hufflepuff and 198,350 points for Ravenclaw. Now, I award the 2020 Hogwarts House Cup to Hufflepuff!" The Hufflepuffs clapped and cheered. I had just finished my first year at Hogwarts. It was a wonderful adventure!
