I open my eyes and suddenly all of my scenes jult awake. Beeping noises, worried whispers, pointing, and metallic taste in my mouth. I feel the top half of my leg tingling and searing with pain. I reach down to touch it and its gone. there's only half of my leg. I puke. I couldn't help it. no more soccer or basketball. cross country or track. softball or field hockey. The doctor gives me medicine and assumes that I fell asleep. then I hear it. "when should we tell her her parents died and her best friend is in a coma?" what? THEY ARE DEAD!!! Its all my fault, it should have been me, I'm the one who asked for ice cream. I want to tell then that I want to explain it. When I try to sit up my leg pierces with pain once again. Please let this be a bad dream, please. But deep down inside I know its not. This will be my life from now on. An orphan with only one leg.
