Red Sky at Morning
Chapter 1
The lamp posts all around Ottery St. Catchpole flickered off, sending the entire town into a pitch black darkness. The darkness spread all the way down the valley, to the burrow, where only a single sole sat there, awake, while the rest of the house slumbered. The single sole that was awake went by the name of Harry Potter. A tall, lanky boy with jet black tousled hair and almond shaped bright green eyes, Harry sat on the stiff, dead grass surrounding the burrow staring out into the vast sky the color of eggplant, watching each twinkling star wink out of existence as the sun started to rise. It was as though someone had spilled red paint on the sky. The sun was like a giant ball of fire and the sky looked like it had been smeared with blood. Harry heard stirring behind him and for mere moments, he had an inkling of hope that if he turned around, Sirius would be behind him, transformed into a dog like he had once been, many years ago. Instead, as Harry turned around, he saw a medium height girl with brown bushy hair approaching him, Hermione. "Good morning" Hermione said as she sat down. Harry turned back toward the direction to where the sun had rissen moments ago. "It ,ought to be a ruff day won't it he said, staring at the blood red sky. "'Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky at morning, sailors take warning' look at the sky, it's just like the saying" said Harry looking towards Hermione. "Oh Harry, you don't seriously belive that rubbish, you sound like Trelawney" said Hermione, as she had always been very ill fitted toward divination, ever since Professor Trelawney called her "closed minded". "Yes, of course" said Harry, not convinced. He had a feeling today would not go well.
