The Marauders: Godly Parents
Chapter 2
These are my thoughts on who the godly parents of each of the marauders (plus Lily and Snape) would be. If you have any disagreements or comments don't hesitate to reach out!
Lily-Athena
Lily is obviously smart, she's a notable member of the Slug Club and excelled at potions. Plus, her sister Annabeth was rather notably attracted to a particular son of Hermes, similar to how she and James get married (James is probably a Hermes kid)
Snape-Hades
I'm not just saying this because I dislike Snape (I'll probably write about this at some point) as a Hades kid myself I see plenty of value in moodiness, independence, and distrust. However, his brooding nature and his hatred for Harry makes me think he'd definitely be a Hades kid. For one thing, Hades has said that holding grudges is a fatal flaw for his children. Snape's hatred of Harry stems directly from how much he despised James. He also (obviously) likes the color black, and is moody and brooding.
James- Hermes
Mischievous? Yep. Good at flying? Check. Charming? Heck yes! James to me is very clearly a son of Hermes. He's very much a trouble maker, and like the messenger god, is great at flying. Plus, like his other siblings (Luke?) he was able to make his way into the heart of an intelligent young lady (Annabeth?) unlike Luke though, he was loyal until the end, dying for his wife and son.
Sirius- Apollo
Though his inclination towards leather and black is reminiscent of Nico di Angelo his cockiness, self-centeredness (don't kill me, it's true) and attractiveness lead to him being an obvious choice for the son of Apollo.
Remus- Athena/Hermes (Maybe like Frank? Descended from Hermes, but a child of Athena?)
Obviously Remus is brilliant, he becomes a professor, and obviously helps the Marauders with their homework. However, he shares a slight disdain for the rules, unlike Athena. This could be a by-product of Hermes lineage. I had a really hard time placing him, and would love feedback.
Peter- Janus
I had a hard time placing him, but I ultimately decided on the two-faced god Janus. Janus is the god of beginnings and endings, but also choices. Not only is Peter a two-faced little rat, but his betrayal sort of leads to the beginning and end of the second wizarding war. His bad choices ultimately lead to Harry Potter's fame and the downfall of the Dark Lord.
