Chapter 1
When I'm feeling bored, upset, angry, or feeling anything at all, I write. Ok...for you people out there that think writing is a waste of time, I respect your opinion. But have you ever just looked outside and had an immediate flash of inspiration? I write about it. I can twist the scene into an extreme fantasy or dark mystery setting; there's so much you do.
Besides writing stories and poems, how about songs? I have a songbook with over 15 completed songs, and more than 20 unfinished ones. I write about almost anything...being overshadowed and feeling downgraded at school, dreaming like my life was a perfect fairy-tale reality, or just feeling like a leaf drifting in the wind.
Where I'm gonna go,
I don't know, the only thing is
I'm drifting
(drift to far-)
That was a part of my original song, Drifting, that I wrote a while back and finalized a few months ago. It really helps me to just write about everything going on. I wrote a song about the pandemic last month, titled Confusion. It helped me to sort out the tangled mess of feelings by simply writing a song. Coming up with a melody was fun, too.
Here's Confusion...it might give you a bit of inspiration. I hope you like it!
Sometimes I don't know
what's going on.
Sometimes I just wait
until the following dawn
To make sense of
everything
everything
everything.
Sometimes life's like a river-
flowing one direction
then the next.
Sometimes I don't know
if it's better to
stop and rest
or just
continue on
and go with the flow.
Everything's swirling in my head
time to time
And I don't know
what's coincidence,
and what's a sign.
But I don't know
if anything will get
clearer-
or if I'll just
have to wait out the storm.
Sometimes-
I don't know-
what's the difference
And why I care so.
Clarity and Mist
Joyful and Somber-
Desolate and Fallow-
Clarity and Mist
Blind versus Color-
Light versus Shadow-
Sometimes-
I don't know-
if It's better to
stop and rest
or just continue on
and go with the flow.
Sometimes-
Oh-
I don't know-
But I wish
I knew
so.
The refrain (Clarity and Mist, etc...) is my absolute favorite part. Send me an owl if you liked it!
