The Fidelius Charm (incantation unknown) is an extremely difficult, multifaceted and potent charm that can be used to conceal a secret inside an individual's soul; the witch or wizard who houses the secret is known as the Secret Keeper. A dwelling whose location has been protected by this spell is then invisible, intangible, unplottable and soundproof. This is an extremely old spell, one of the most ancient of all.
This spell is extremely powerful and difficult to cast. I hope you aren't reading this to learn how to cast it, if that's the case... what have you done?
One of the best examples of this spell being used was in the case of Lily and James Potter. They used this spell to try and hide from Voldemort who they learned was trying to kill them. It would have worked, unfortunately, their secret keeper told the secret and they were killed. Leaving Harry Potter behind, who saved the Wizarding world.
Using this spell is dangerous and only works if you have a secret keeper you trust. I'd advise this as a last resort.
