The Long Journey To Hogwarts

Chapter 4

It was August 31 in America. Today was the day I left for London and Hogwarts. My Mother stayed up with me to pack up everything and go over the plan: Both her and the rest of my family would take me to the airport. My little sister and I would fly first to Atlanta Georgia, and from there take a new plane to the London Heathrow Airport. From there, my little sister and I would go through customs, and give them our alias: that we would be staying with our Great Aunt while attending boarding school (we gave the address of the house and a letter from the "school" so that the muggle customs officers would not raise suspicion.) Once customs was accounted for, my sister and I would collect our luggage, and take the Piccadily line in the London Underground to Kings Cross Station, where Platform 9 and 3/4 would be waiting for us. Then, we would finally board the Hogwarts Express and we would be on our way to Hogwarts where our educations would begin.

The plane ride to London was long and unmemorable. I stayed up and watched my favorite movie while my sister napped, then she entertained herself while I rested. We both wanted to make sure that we have minimal jet lag from the plane before boarding a multi hour long train ride to Hogwarts. Once the both of us landed, and we got through customs and collected our luggage, I asked directions to the London Underground, where a nearby worker pointed us in the right direction. Once at the ticket booth, my sister made me work out the machine for a ticket first. I collected my ticket and then waited for her to take hers. Shortly after, we boarded the train to Kings Cross, where we talked about how excited we were to begin our Hogwarts studies. I told her that I've been practicing my charms, and she told she how excited she was for transfiguration. She hopes to be an animagus like our mother, but she wants to transform herself into something far more interesting and intimidating.

Once we arrived at Kings Cross, we spotted a swarm of kids our age entering Platform 9 and 3/4 while the surrounding muggles passed us by. My sister made me go through the barrier first, while she promised to follow suit right behind me. Once we were both on the other side, it was 10:45 AM on September 1st. We promptly handed in our luggage and boarded the train to find an empty compartment. We eventually found a spot for the two of us to sit, and we were eventually joined by two other girls, Tara, and her sister Claire. I could tell that Tara and I would become good friends very quickly, and together we sat and talked and met some new and interesting people. There were four other girls we met, Kali, Ali, Lauren, and Sally. Kali and Sally would both go on at Hogwarts to be sorted into Gryffindor. Tara and I, were sorted into Ravenclaw. Lauren went to the loyal Hufflepuff house, and Ali and my younger sister went on to Slytherin. To be fair and completely honest, I think Slytherin is a great fit for Ali, not because she's an evil person, but because it fits her mysterious personality.

At Hogwarts, My sister went on to meet some close friends both inside and out of our housea, and we went our seperate ways for studying. But we always meet up at the end of our day in the great hall and talk about all the exciting and stressful parts of our day. I didn't know it then, but I was in for the ride of my life. I was glad that I had and still have good friends and family to help me through all the trying classes, and trials that Hogwarts puts me through.
