School Supply Shopping
Chapter 3
Shopping was always a weird affair for me. My sisters would go look for clothes for themselves, while I roamed the stores seeing if there was anything at all that I wanted. Whenever I saw something, I would usually get discouraging scowls from one, or both of my siblings. This time around, I wanted the focus to be strictly on supplies, and not any random impulse purchases that I may have had my eyes on. My mother ordered my school robes months in advance because she knew that I was surely going to be accepted to Hogwarts. So all I needed was my wand, some notebooks, and of course my various textbooks. Another thing about my siblings, is that when they aren't fighting over borrowing/stealing each others clothes, they always tell me that I need to update my wardrobe, as my clothes tend to be a few years old before I update them.
After purchasing some new pairs of summer and fall wardrobe changes, the three of us went to the bookstore to get my Hogwarts Textbooks. The thing about buying Hogwarts textbooks in America, is that they are usually much more expensive, as shipping rates need to be taken into account. I browsed my charm textbook, as after I had purchased my wand, I wanted to learn as many spells as I could safely muster on my own. Plus, I wanted to see if I had my uncle's knack for charm work, that I supposedly get from him, along with my physical build. After perusing my charm book, I looked through my Transfiguration textbook, and was highly discouraged. I could tell that this class was going to be a struggle for me.
Once all the books were purchased, My sisters and I travelled home. My dad purchased my plane ticket to London, and he helped me find the best route to King's Cross Station from the Airport. I had a few weeks left of summer, but I was getting restless. I wanted to start my magical education, because I knew I only had seven years to determine what the rest of my life would look like career wise. I had to make the most of everything, and I had to make some big decisions soon. But one thing was certain: I was beyond excited to begin my studies!
