Battle For The Hills
Chapter 1
Huff, huff, huff. My feet pounded on the damp, slimy floor. My red, curly hair whipped about my face, and my bright, blue eyes widened in fear. I never thought it would end like this.
"Stop! Leave me alone!" I yelled, and skidded to a stop. "I'll destroy you" I threatened, but I couldn't disguise the fear that tinged my voice. A dark chuckle emerged from the darkness, and a handsome young man stalked into the light.
"Oh, my darling Ciara, I'd like to see you try." Sean's green eyes glittered in the sunlight that filtered through the holes in the roof of the cave.
"I can't believe I ever fancied you," I spat, attempting to hide my terror with distaste. Sean smirked at me.
"My, is that anyway to speak to your king?" I glared at him with pure loathing.
"I will NEVER bow down to the likes of you, you MONSTER!" He fixed me with a steely gaze.
"I killed your father, which makes me the rightful king of Dearna." His frown twisted into a sadistic smile. "Perhaps you'd like to join him?" He asked, a sick grin on his handsome face.
"NEVER!" I screamed, and pulled out my pistol. Sean's cocky face was replaced with one of pure fear as he reached for his gun, but it was too late: a BANG sounded from the pistol in my hands and he looked down at the spot of red slowly spreading across his pristine dress shirt. Sean stared at me.
"C-ciara, p-please, I-I r-really did c-c-care f-for you.." He choked out. I stared at him, not with hate, but pity.
"I loved you too, Sean." I murmured, and walked out of the cave, leaving behind his still body, and the regrets I had carried for the past 10 years. At long last, I felt free.
