The Letter
Chapter 2
One Day when Lily was in 5th grade Lily was doing her social studies project when her teacher announced, “Lily, there is a please go to the main office.”
Lily walked to the door, and as she passed Jerry,
he whispered, ¨What is this Ms.Write-a-Lot is finally in trouble?¨
Lily’s heart was pounding, her mind raced with thoughts.
¨What if I get a write up, or What if I get suspended?¨,Lily wondered.
When the principal handed her the letter Lily gasped as she read the return address. Her favorite book company, Bizarre Books Co. Lily ripped open the seal and read the letter out loud.
Dear Miss Lily,
I am so impressed with your work.
Your mother sent me a story of yours last week.
Myself along with my assistant Mr. Charles
would be delighted to have you write a book.
My company will publish it free of charge.
Sincerely,
Mr. George Smith
Lily was dumbstruck. The Principal obviously knew about what the letter said and was already calling Lily's mom.
Lily´s mom was so happy to hear about the letter that she picked Lily and KC up early to go celebrate at their favorite ice cream parlor, Ice Cream Cuisine.
That evening Lily got right to work on brainstorming ideas.
