Lily read the first page to herself. Her eyes filled with tears of joy. Lily and her best friend, KC, had reached their goal (to make a book). Well sort of only the first page, but anyway the page was filled with color and words. Just like a real book. Jerry, Lily’s future enemy, came over and asked to read the page. They were only in kindergarten but Jerry was impressed by Lily’s work. Lily’s work was better than his own. Jerry became jealous of Lily’s work and began to bully her. He did this to make himself feel better about himself, and so that people wouldn’t bully him. Jerry ripped the paper to bits.
“That is so bad. Who would ever read such a weird story.” Jerry shouted. So that's how it was: Lily kept writing, and Jerry kept bullying.
Lily started to weep, fat tears dripped down her pale cheek.
“Don’t listen to him Lily. Jerry is just a big fool. Your work is amazing,” KC said encouragingly.
Lily sobbed quietly while her and KC remade the page. When the book was fully made Lily and KC showed their teacher; Mrs. Martin. The teacher was blown away and let the girls read their story to the class. After class that day Mrs. Martin called Lily over to her desk.
¨Lily¨ Mrs. Martin said, ¨ You have an amazing gift.¨
¨What is my gift?¨ asked Lily
¨You are an absolutely fabulous writer, and to write a story like that at the age of 6 is mind blowing!¨ replied Mrs. Martin
¨I do?¨ asked Lily
¨ Yes you do¨ Mrs. Martin continued¨ and one day you will become a awesome writer¨
¨Do you really think so¨ Lily whispered
¨I know so¨ replied Mrs. Martin
