The sound of the girls footsteps echoed in the wooden floor. Creak. The girl was frightened. She ran into her room and locked her door. When she scrambled under her bed, it was waiting for her. She yelled, only to be silenced by an invisible finger on her lips. “It will be over soon.” Whispered a voice in her ear, but that thought did not reassure her. Minutes later, she was indeed begging for death, as many people do, not knowing what they were begging for until seconds before it happens. Ten miles away, a girl named Abigail woke with a start. ‘A dream.’ She thought. ‘Just a dream.’ She couldn’t fall back into her slumber, so she went to the first story of her house to get a nice cup of ice water. When she opened the cupboard to get a cup, she was greeted by something cold and piercing. She hoped in her life that it was just broken glass.
