In Transfiguration, you are asked to transfigure animals into other objects. But where do these animals come from? Does it hurt them to be transfigured? Often students mess up and the animals end up with extra body parts or less of their body. Students are also asked to vanish animals. When they're vanished, does it kill them? Does it hurt? I say do not continue Transfiguration until you are sure that it doesn't provide discomfort for the animal being Transfigured. Maybe even stop Transfiguring animals all together. Why can't we Transfigure objects into animals? Or Transfigure objects into other objects? Make sure you have the answers to these questions and are satisfied with them before continuing Transfiguring animals.
