In our first DADA lesson, professor Penrose told us about all the kinds of dark arts and stuff, but when he said you have to say the charms correctly and don't make a mistake or it will backfire and create damage, I knew I should review the charms a lot. He had told us about the charms "Lumos" and "Nox." Lumos is used to light the tip of your wand and can be used for lighting dark places (like the muggle item "the flashlight"), or could harm some dark creatures. Nox is used to put out the light on he tip of your wand. It is even easier to perform than Lumos. At the end of the lesson, Professor Penrose put "Spell Blocks" for us to use to study these two charms. Here they are:

Spell: The Wand-Lighting Charm
Incantation: Lumos (LOO-mos)
Wand Movement: A counter-clockwise loop
Concentration: Low - lighting up the tip of your wand
Willpower: Low

Spell: The Wand-Extinguishing Charm
Incantation: Nox (NOCK-ss)
Wand Movement: A flick of the wand
Concentration: None
Willpower: None
