Chapter Three: The WTGTH Club
Chapter 3
Lily assembled her cousin Hugo Weasley and her godmother Luna Lovegood Scamander's sons who'd become her friends Lorcan and Lysander Scamander.
"ATTENTION!" she yelled. They all saluted. "Thank you." Lily said. "Now, we came here to choose the meeting's name, which we decided to make the previous day. But I think you guys might be hopeless at naming, so I thought we'd call this club-"
"Wait. This is a club?" Hugo asked, eyes bulging. "Clubs are for girls!"
"No, it isn't, Hugo," Lily said impatiently. "If you don't want a club, do you want to name this WPS's Army?"
"What does WPS stand for?" Lysander wanted to know.
"Weasley Potter Scamander's Army," Lily replied simply, cocking her head to one side.
"Hey!" Lysander yelled. "That's..." he stopped abruptly, causing Lily to grow curious.
"Why? Weasley is Hugo, Potter is me, Scamander is you and Lorcan."
"Nothing." Lysander muttered.
"I think he's cross we're the last surname to be listed," interrupted Lorcan, looking grumpy. "Because I am. We ought to talk about that, Lil."
Lily rolled her eyes. "Fine. The other name I've been thinking is the W.T.G.T.H. Club." She wrote it on her mini blackboard.
"What? The Wtgth Club?" Hugo repeated, frowning and staring at the letters. "That's the most stupid name I've ever heard. And trust me, I've heard a lot of wacky names from Rose's history books."
"Not Wtgth, Hugo, W.T.G.T.H.! Doubleu, Tee, Gee, Tee, and Aeich. Aeich? Huh..."
While Lily was pondering about "H", Lysander interrupted. "So what does W.T.G.T.H. stand for?" Lysander asked.
"And should there be a dot at each letter if you want to read it as W T G T H?" Lorcan added. "I think you for the dots when you wrote it down."
"Then everybody would realize it stands for something, and they shouldn't! This is a private meeting, guys! They can't figure out anything!" Lily answered.
"Fine. What does it stand for anyway?" Lorcan repeated his twin's words.
"Want To Go To Hogwarts." Lily replied, a smile blooming on her face.
"What about WWTGTH? As We Want To Go To Hogwarts?" Hugo suggested. "That's more direct."
"And that's more easier to decode!" Lily said.
"I think us screaming Want Want would give them the idea if they ever had to decode this." Lorcan said skeptically.
"I'm serious, guys. Do you guys want to go to Hogwarts, or not? And did you join this club because of yourself wanting to go to Hogwarts or because I pushed you to?"
"Er..." The truth was, Hugo just came in because Lily pushed him with angry scary eyes. Lorcan just came in because he thought the club might be fun. Lysander came in because Lily asked him to.
"Well, you can go if you'd like." Lily said crossly, narrowing her eyes, as if she dared them to go.
"Come on, nobody can go if you're glaring at them like that!" Hugo complained.
Lily's eyebrows twitched, and she turned away and plopped down on her bed.
"Um... what if you just go out and wait?" Lorcan suggested.
Silently Lily went out. She shut the door loudly behind her.
"Can anybody do Muffliato?" Hugo whispered. "She might eavesdrop."
"Are you kidding me? I can't even do Wingardium Leviosa! We don't have a wand."
"Oh, great." Hugo grumbled. "Try it, guys with your mind. Mum told me you could."
Lysander opened his mouth to protest, but decided against it and sighed. One by one the boys tried, but they all failed miserably.
"It's Lily-time." Hugo muttered darkly. "Lily!" he shouted.
"Yeah?"
"We need to cast the Muffliato spell."
"Ah. I'll get Mum." she said. Lily felt rather hurt her friends wouldn't trust her. Oh, but well. "Mum! The boys need you!"
Ginny climbed the one flight of stairs and blinked at her daughter. "What's the matter?"
"They want to cast the Muffliato spell so I won't eavesdrop on them."
"And why would they...?"
"They're deciding something," Lily answered vaguely, looking away.
Ginny shrugged. "All right. Just let me get my wand, okay?"
After Ginny returned with her wand, she cast the Muffliato Charm and called, "D'you care to try and talk?"
Lorcan, Hugo and Lysander awkwardly started talking and humming nonsense.
"If you did talk... we couldn't hear you. Good."
The boys started talking almost immediately. "Don't you feel a bit sorry for Lily if we all go out?" Lysander whispered.
"Yeah," Hugo agreed. "But I don't want to be in this."
"Let's just watch for a while." Lorcan suggested. "We might like it."
"Great suggestion, Lorcan," grumbled Hugo. "She'll make us do everything!"
"Maybe she won't. I know she's bossy but she's our friend."
Hugo shifted. "That's right. Ugh, Lysander, you always make us guilty."
Lysander shrugged. "I'm just pointing out stuff you guys never want to."
"So is it decided?" hissed Lorcan. "We'll stay?"
Lysander and Hugo exchanged looks. Simulatenously they replied, "Yes."
Lorcan nodded. "Okay." He struggled to open the door and found Lily looking nervous.
"So?" she asked anxiously, biting her lip.
The three boys all smiled. "Welcome us to the W.T.G.T.H. Club or WPS's Army."
Lily broke into a broad smile, and declared, "The W.T.G.T.H. Club!"
