Chapter Eleven: Holly Holland the Muggle-born
Chapter 11
**Hi! Erm I just wanted to know; what writing style is better? The one in Chapter One to Chapter Nine, or the Chapter Ten writing style? Just curious. I plan to write in the Chapter Ten writing style for a while**
Demeter glanced at the door. She whimpered.
"Don't be a wimp, Gardner," said a female voice harshly.
"Rhonda Jenkins?" whimpered Demeter.
"Yes, Miss Goddess," snarled Rhonda. Next to Rhonda was a black haired, tall boy who seemed like he was in seventh grade. "Godfrey and I are trying to pass, you see."
"You can always go around," pointed out Lily.
Rhonda glared. "Just go around? For a couple of first years?" she snorted. "I want to boss around first years, okay? Just like I was done in my first years." then she pushed Lily and Demeter aside and walked away.
Unlike Scorpius, Godfrey just looked approvingly at Rhonda and gave them a wicked, truly wicked, smirk. "Get up, losers," he sneered.
"Wow." Lily mumbled. She helped Demeter up. "Come on, Demeter, History of Magic will be fun!" Actually, on the contrary, Lily didn't think she would enjoy History of Magic. She would probably enjoy it... and show the interest... Uncle Ron and Dad had showed.
"You know, I think I'm starting to respect your aunt a lot more," said Demeter weakly.
"Just let's get over with. Don't you think the fact that Professor Binns is a ghost would make things interesting?" Lily tried to smile.
"It'll get boring..." said Demeter. She was now sobbing.
Lily finally got Demeter to enter the classroom. Professor Binns had not come in yet, so Lily and Demeter sat in the front row. "He won't notice us," said Demeter, "if we're in the front row. You know." Lily did not know, but she did as Demeter instructed.
"Hi! What's your name?" asked a girl in the back.
"My name's Demeter Gardner. What about you?" Demeter responded.
The girl ignored Demeter. "And you?" she pressed at Lily.
Lily avoided her gaze. "Lily Potter."
The girl gaped. "Not the daughter of THE Harry Potter?"
"I am," Lily murmured.
"Gosh!" the girl turned at Demeter. Demeter was glowering at the girl for ignoring her. "Hi, Demeter. My name's Holly Holland, and it's so nice to see you! I'm Muggle-born. So you must be a half-blood, right? Lily?"
"Yes," said Lily.
"Wow! And what about you, Demeter? I hope you're a pureblood, and we'd be like Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, and Hermione Granger!"
"I am a pureblood." replied Demeter.
Holly squealed. "I studied about EVERYTHING! My role model is Hermione Granger. She's so smart! I want to look like Ginny Weasley though. No, no, I mean Ginny Potter. Did Hermione Granger change her surname?"
"No, I don't think so," Lily answered.
"Whoa!" shrieked Holly passionately. She looked so eager. "I'm looking forward to History of Magic. I mean, the History of MAGIC? How amazing is that?"
Demeter and Lily both grimaced. "Trust me," they said together. "It's not amazing."
Holly looked slightly crestfallen, but she brightened almost immediately. "It'll be wondrous to have a teacher who's a ghost! Amazing, amazing, wondrous, spectacular, perfect! I saw two people along the way, though. They looked mean. Do you know what their names are? I think they said they were Ronnie and Gordon or something?"
"Rhonda and Godfrey?" suggested Demeter.
"Yes! Remind me to not cross paths with them!" said Holly enthusiastically. "Hopefully no one that mean will be in OUR dorm or OUR House or even OUR year! I'm a Gryffindor by the way. Shame we aren't in the same dorms, right? Gosh, it's so disappointing! I made one new friend. Her name is Heather Washington."
Lily and Demeter's new friend made them smile. She was full of enthusiasm, and reminded Lily of Aunt Hermione.
'Aunt Hermione would want to meet Holly!'
