So what's in a Slytherin?

Chapter 3
Many words can be used to describe a Slytherin. Cunning, ambitious, a natural born leader- but what does it all mean?

Slytherins strive for the best, which is something they share with Ravenclaw. While Ravenclaw seems to be all about brains, Slytherins pour their heart into everything. Whether it be Quidditch or the House Cup, they apply themselves to whatever they may be doing. This leads to Slytherins being ambitious, competitive and perfectionists.

Slytherin can also be brave. Maybe not as brave as the average Gryffindor, but a Slytherin does know when to take a stand. What makes them wise is the knowledge to know when to stand down. A Slytherin can be considered self centered, but only to this extent. They care about themselves and cherish their life and know when to back down from a fight.

The mascot for the Slytherin house is the serpent, and one of it's qualities represents members of the Slytherin house: misunderstood. A serpent is often considered dangerous, despite not being venomous at all! Slytherin is also misunderstood because we're all seen as evil and vile people due to a few mishaps.

Slytherins are loyal to themselves. Once you become is Slytherin you become part of a family, a brotherhood. A Slytherin never leaves a brother is sister behind and always protects one if their own. It has been noted that Ravenclaws have been known to backstab one another in order to achieve academic success. This is never seen in Slytherin.
