So what's a Slytherin?
Chapter 2
Lets begin this topic with a brief history.
Hogwarts was created in 990 A.D. by four of the most renowned witches and wizards of their time: Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw, Helga Hufflepuff and Salazar Slytherin. Ring a bell? They named each of the four houses after themselves. Each student that is sorted into their house is sorted for the unique characteristic that the leader represented.
Salazar Slytherin was regarded as one of the greatest wizards of the age, respectively as a Parselmouth (someone who can talk to snakes) and as a skilled Legilimens (someone who can navigate the mind magically). It is said that he mistrusted Muggle born students and their ability to learn magic and that is why he wanted strictly Pure-bloods in the school. This is what caused his disagreement with Godric Gryffindor and caused the life long fued. Don't fret if you're a Half-Blood or Muggle-born, Slytherin has become as diverse as any other house!
Salazar Slytherin was very meticulous when it came to the students he wanted in his house. He chose students that modeled his personality, much like the other house creators did. He chose strong characters, ones who were destined to do great things. He admired cunning and ambitious students, believing they had the most potential.
And that leads us to the next subject; what /makes/ a Slytherin?
