The Potion-Maker'S Daughter
There's a new girl on the Hogwarts Express. She's pretty, kind, and quiet. She clicks with everyone, is generous with her licorice wands, and even tolerates Malfoy. Everyone is thinking, "She's probably a Hufflepuff." Right? WRONG. She's sorted into Slytherin, with the bad kids and the wannabe evils and the just plain thugs. She is secretive about her past, does best in Potions class, and usually sits with the Hufflepuffs. Is Chloe the school's greatest mystery (besides why Dumbledore is so incompetent), or just an enigmatic girl placed in the wrong house?

Goodbye...For Now
Chapter 17
"Don't forget to write!"
"You guys should come visit soon!"
"I'll send you an Owl!"
The Great Hall was filled with noise as friends said goodbye to one another, and then climbed into the carriages that would take them to Hogsmeade Station. Chloe was looking up at the teacher's table, where Professor Snape- no, her father- was talking to Dumbledore.
"You coming, Chloe?" Hermione stood by her elbow, cheeks flushed, grinning.
"Yeah, sure," Chloe replied distractedly. "Just a minute."
Impulsively, she raced through the House tables, wove her way around clusters of loudly chatting students, and up the steps to the teacher's table. She ran up to Snape and gave him a hug.
"See you soon, Dad!"
Before he could say anything, she ran back down the steps and rejoined her friends. As they walked out the door, she could see that everyone was staring at her. But instead of shrinking back and keeping her head down, Chloe lifted her head up, her long ponytail bouncing as she stepped. She turned her head, flashed a big smile at the others, and then walked towards the carriages. Let them stare, she thought. Their loss.
"Take a picture!" she shouted. "It'll last longer!"
They could stare all they wanted. And she wouldn't care. Because she was brave, she was confident, and above all, she was Chloe Snape, the Potion-maker's Daughter.
