Chapter 6
Dormitories

Students are assigned to dormitories based on their Year and House. 1st and 2nd years reside on the 1st and 2nd floors respectively, with fellow house members and share a room with up to 5 people. 3rd and 4th years reside on the 3rd and 4th floor with 3 other roommates of their choice. 5th and 6th years reside on the 5th and 6th floor with 2 roommates of their choice and the added benefit of a balcony. 7th years reside on the 7th floor and can choose to have a roommate or not. Rooms on the 1st-4th floors have single beds while all the other floors have double bed. Each room is fully air-conditioned with a hardwood flooring. All rooms are equipped with a telescope, a desk, a chaise, and storage. Students are allowed to personalize their room by bringing in their own furniture. Dorms are found in each of the 3 house towers.

Libraries

The Beauxbatons Library houses over a million books including a number of exclusively signed copies from authors such as Bathilda Bagshot and Perenelle Flamel. The library also holds special, high-security sections dedicated to rare books and the Dark Arts. These sections are so restricted that they are only accessible through a passageway.

Dining Halls

There are numerous dining halls that can be found throughout the castle. Some are grander while others are more intimate. During breakfast, students are required to eat with their house members. At lunch, students must eat in a specific dining hall that corresponds to their year and at dinner, students may eat wherever they please. The kitchen sits below the castle and the chefs follow a schedule of meals with the exception of holidays where nearly every dish is prepared. Mondays bring foie gras while Fridays bring fettucine. In between meals, students can request that a certain snack be prepared for them.
