A Guide to Beauxbatons Academy of Magic
written by Adelaide Dubois
Adelaide Rothschild is a French-English student of Hogwarts. Due to her mother's French heritage and family past at Beauxbatons, she has come on campus many times, sometimes even living there for weeks on end. A Guide to Beauxbatons Academy of Magic allows for Hogwarts students to glimpse what life is like for their French counterparts. Disclaimer: Not everything said here is real. Chapter 2
Houses
There are 3 houses in Beauxbatons; Papillonlisse, Ombrelune, and Bellefeuille.
Those sorted into Papillonlisse are known for their kindness and good nature. Often, these students show a talent for the arts and are very social people. They are social butterflies, as one might say. These students are valued for their maturity and their appreciation of humanity. Papillonlisse dorms can be found in the North Wing
Ombrelune is recognized for their ambition, curiosity, and logic. Students sorted into this house prize intelligence and rationality above all else. These students tend to be perfectionists as they strive for power and influence. The Ombrelune Tower is located in the East Wing, near the library.
Bellefeuille students are well known for their bravery, sensitivity and compassion. Students of this house often display a tendency towards nature and all it holds. They are hard workers and it shows clearly in their academics. The Bellefeuille dorms are found in the turrets of the Great Tower.

How do exams work?
Students in Years 1-4 must all take the midterms each semesters and at the end of each school year, they must take finals for all their classes. Students’ final grade depends on their performance on midterms and finals as well as homework completion. They are rated on a 1-10 scale with 10 being the highest. In Years 5 and up, OWLS and NEWTS take place. All the OWLS and NEWTS a student chooses to take will have an essay section, a multiple choice, and a short answer. Each section is then given a rating of 1-3 with 1 being the best possible score.
