Beauxbatons Campus
Chapter 1
The Beauxbatons Campus is tucked away in the Pyrenees Mountains in Southern France. The campus lies on a flatter area made by magic up on the highest peak. It is a grand 7 story chateau with tall windows and marble walls. (See: Chateau du Chambord). Behind the castle lies Beauxbatons Park. Filled with roses and lilies alike, the park is a favorite place to study as its peace and nature calms the mind. In the garden, you will find Le Fontagne de Flamel, a fountain named for Beauxbatons' most famed alumni, Nicolas Flamel. As you enter the castle via the main entrance, you will find a small foyer with French wood paneling and a golden mirror leaning against the wall. The tall doors in front of you will fall open and into the Grand Ballroom. The Grand Ballroom is the biggest and most ornate of all of Beauxbatons' ballrooms. It features shining marble floors, a ceiling decorated in a Baroque fashion and a floor to ceiling windows. Glass chandeliers light the room up and shows off every inch of its decorated splendor. At the end of the Ballroom is a grand staircase leading to classrooms, dormitories, and more. Classrooms in Beauxbatons are typically found on the 1st and 2nd floors (with some exceptions like Potions)so that they are easily accessible by students. Each classroom is sparsely furnished with some tables and chairs at the beginning of the year, leaving it to the professors to customize it to their liking. All classrooms feature gothic style windows and a chandelier. The halls leading to these classrooms are decorated with paintings of past students, staff, and other memorable figures. The hallways are typically made of a dusty blue marble with stars adoring the rounded ceilings. There are 3 common rooms at Beauxbatons, each corresponding to a house. Some common rooms are more modest while some tend to be more opulent and lavish in their decor because certain houses prefer more toned surroundings and other houses like to keep their common room elaborately ornate. Common rooms are found in each of the House Towers.
