The phoenix in Harry Potter is called Fawkes it was Dumbledore's pet before Snape you know...Avada Kadavra! so...ya. (more on that topic in conclusion) In The Chamber of Secrets when Harry fights the basilisk a fang goes into his arm, and he's well...ya. Then from out of nowhere Fawkes just come sweeping down and saves him. Now to the point of this chapter. How did Fawkes save Harry? It's simple. The phoenix cried. You heard me right, cried.
