Once there were three brothers who were traveling at twilight. After time they came across a river that was to deep to swim and to far to wade, so the brothers learning magic just waved there wands and made a bridge. But Death feeling cheated pretended to congratulate them on evading him, so he told them he would give them gifts. The first brother asked for a wand more powerful then any other, so Death fashioned him one from a nearby Elk tree. The second, wanting to humiliate Death even further asked for a stone that could bring back the dead. So Death gave him a stone from the river. The third brother, a humble man, asked for a clock that could hide him from his enemies. So Death gave him his own invisibility clock. The first brother went to a village and killed the man that he had once fought with. He bragged about how powerful he was, but one night a man took the wand and slit his throat for good measure. The second brother went home and turned the stone three times in his hand bringing back the women of which he was going to marry. But she soon wendt sad for she wasn't supposed to be in he living world. The brother then killed himself so he could join her. Death searched and searched for the third brother but he could not find him, it was only when he was at great age that the brother passed the cloke onto his son and greated Death as an old friend.
