I walk briskly with my family to the Hogwarts train. My first year, and I'm going to be fabulous! Everyone will know who I am! Roxy Thomas! I had BIG plans for Hogwarts, and I will not fail!

My annoying twin brother, Seth, comes up to me. "Are you nervous?" he asks.

I pretend to flip my black hair, but it is too short to actually flip, and reply "Of course not! I'm going to be fine!" My brother rolls his eyes.

"Yeah right! I bet you are nervous but you don't want to admit it!" he retorts. I snort. I honestly was NOT nervous, but I couldn't blame my brother for thinking I was lying. I have lied to him plenty of times.

"Let's just get on the train!"

My mother and father hug us all good bye and my little sister waves to us, crying, as we aboard the train. Almost immediately, Seth and I find the compartment where all of our friends are. Seth and I walk in and every jumps up. 

"ROXY!" Brittany yells.

"BRITTANY!" I scream back. We are BEST friends. Like, seriously, even Char and Stella aren't as close as we are. Brittany pretty much leaps on me and we both hug each other. Seth gives Char and Stella a hug by the time Brittany and I break apart.

"Dumbledore, I've missed you so much!" I say, out of breath.

"I missed you more!" she objects. I shake my head.

"Pssh, whatever!" I avert my gaze to Stella and Char. I smile at them and hug both of them. "I missed you guys too!"

They both laugh. "We missed you as well!" they say in unison. Okay, that was a little creepy. I look at Seth as he stands up on one of the benches.  

"Well, I missed all of you! Well, besides Roxy." he winks at me. I roll my eyes and all of us sit down. Stella's black cat, Midnight, jumps up on my lap.

"Stella, get your cat off of me! It will get cat hair on my new skinny jeans!" I say as I hold up my arms. I didn't want to risk getting cat hair on my new shirt as well! Stella just laughs.

"Alright, alright!" She gets up and picks up that filthy pet. Midnight looks confused, but stays on her master's lap.

"Okay guys," Char says. "Remember what Kyle told us all. We need to prepare ourselves for the 'train lurch'."

We all nod. Kyle, Stella's brother, told us how the train lurches. Sometimes the lurch is small, but sometimes you end up on the other side of the compartment. Stella looks out the window and says "All the students are on board so it should be moving soo-"

Her sentence was cut off as she, Char, and Seth lurched towards us. Brittany and I were pushed into the back of our seats. Seth ended up banging the window and on the floor, Stella caught herself just in time, and Char was sitting in the seat opposite of where she was originally. "Whoa!" Char says, looking dazed.

"Well then..." Stella brushes her self off as Seth gets back in his seat. Suddenly, the compartment door opens and a tall, pale boy walks in. He has black hair, and his eyes are a deep blue.

"Wow, that was crazy!" he says. "Are you guys all right?"

Brittany looks at me. "Uh, yeah..." she says. She gives him a confused look. "Why?"

He smiles. "I was just making sure. I'm a second year, and I like checking on the" he crinkles his nose jokingly "first years."

We all start laughing. His eyes twinkle with amusement.  "I'm James, by the way."

"Hi James!" Stella says. "I'm Stella!"

"I'm Char!"

"Brittany!"

"Hey, I'm Seth!"

His eyes focus on me.

"I'm Roxy!" I smile. He nods and smiles back.

"Well, I gotta catch up with my buddies. I hope to see some of you in Slytherin!" he says and winks at me. Then he leaves and shuts the compartment door behind him.

"That was weird." Brittany says. Stella shrugs.

"I dunno, it was kinda..." she trails off.

"Nice." I finish.
