The Mansion

Chapter 1
Amelia kicked the car seat grumpily. She was going to a bach house with her family, for it was the holidays. But she hadn't wanted to go. She had been nagging to go to Rainbow's End, but now they were going to a boring old bach! She kicked the car seat again.
"Stop it!" shouted her older sister, Eliza. "You've been a nuisance all day! Now stop it!" She glared ferociously at Amelia.
"We're almost there. Just one hour left," said dad.
"Good!" said Eliza excitedly. And then she turned back to Amelia. "I just can't believe that you don't want to go to the bach. It's gonna be so fun!" And then she turned on her mobile, and started playing Slither.io - a really popular game.
Amelia glared at her, and then was silent. She looked out the car window, and then tried to count each of the trees. Then she closed her eyes, and after a while, she was asleep.

"Oh, come on Amelia! We're here!" someone said in Amelia's ear. It was Eliza. "Look, that is our bach, and our neighbor - oh, come and see!" shouted Eliza so excitedly.
Amelia was very surprised. Eliza had never been this excited. Like, never! Amelia jumped out of the car, and looked at there bach, and then immediately noticed the Mansion. It was huge. And creepy. Imagine having to go to the bathroom and night. All by yourself! You would probably not find the bathroom anyway! The window-sills were covered in dust, but surprisingly, a window was open. Then someone's head peeped out of it. Amelia screamed, and Eliza stared. But then they noticed it was only a old woman, and she smiled at them. "Oh, did I scare you? I'm sorry! I just moved in here today. No one was living in it, and boards and heaps of dust and fluff are inside this mansion, so I decided to clean this place up, and then when it is all spick-and-span like a new bought mansion." She laughed. "Have you girls moved in somewhere around here, or just came to have a few nights in the bach house? Some people did, and they were surprised to see me in this old mansion. Well, I'm with my husband of course, so I am not alone."
Eliza was silent for a moment, and then briskly said, "Oh no, we should be saying sorry! Um, yeah, we are staying a few nights in the bach house." Eliza smiled. And then she turned to me, "Amelia, get your stuff right now, and I'll get mine." Then she turned back to the lady, and told her that they had to go and get their stuff. The old lady smiled at them, and then moved away from the window.
"She's nice," said Eliza.
"Yeah, I suppose," said Amelia, nodding her head slightly.
They both got their back-packs, and then went inside the bach, where most of the other packing was. Mum was pulling something out of her own bag, and dad smiled as they entered. "This place is flash! It's got a swimming pool -" Amelia squealed with excitement. "Can we swim in it today?" She asked. "It is really hot!"
"Yeah, sure!" said dad.
"So you like this place after all?" Eliza asked coolly.
"Well, I have to admit it's okay," said Amelia, and then she laughed.
And then the two girls got ready to have their swim in the pool. They got into their togs and put on their goggles, and then dived into the pool. They swam for what seemed like hours, and then finally got out. Amelia got into dry clothes, and then jumped on one of the baches beds. She grabbed her book from her bag, and started reading.
