Chapter 2
Age 8: Broke a pot; silver cauldron. Father got mad. I don't know. Is it because it is Sleetharin [sic] colour? Mom, calls me Nephee but Dad calls me Nepheelum [sic]. I think I spelled it wrong. Dad gets a bit mad when I spell it wrong. Mom says it ok though. But Dad says I am an dumb for spelling my own name wroung [sic] from time to time. But then he doesn't always get mad. Sometimes he just feels unhappy because I do less magic and more muggie-like things. Uncles and aunts say that I may be squid, I have more fingers? I saw no long hands or tenteecals [sic] now I know why Dad upset at times.
Nephilim had apparently a learning disability when he was younger. His mother loved him a lot and so did his father but there is a history about his father's slight disdain for "muggie-like" things. Nephilim was not that adept at writing, reading or mathematics when he was younger nor was he very keen on spells. He had fewer magical accidents than most as he was not prone to tantrums much nor experimentation. He was a curious question asker but that was a bit frowned upon. The history was that though Murasaki and Bladearrow were both Pureblood families but of all their three children only Nephilim had magical attributes. His older brother, Actinium, and older sister (the middle child) Bautista were both classified as Squibs. Their parents, though of mostly Slytherin heritage, did not mind, but their other family members found it outrageous. Bautista and Actinium used to bully Nephilim when he was younger because they were angry that their cousins would exclude them heavily, and society in general, but welcome Nephilim easily. Many of Nephilim accidental magic that were related happened when he hurt his siblings in a fight but ironically Actinium and Bautista were able to dodge and move with a flexibility that their cousins didn't have. As they got older, however, Nephilim understood all of their frustrations. His father faced lots of gossip, slander and ridicule for having two Non-Magical children. Nephilim also faced a lot of pressure to join Ministry affairs from a young age as Actinium and Bautista were considered not able to do so. His father worked for Internal Inquisitions in the Ministry and it was quite a blow to him that his older son and daughter were not Magical. He found the ridicule very hard to survive also more terribly that he felt he could not connect with his children or share his magical experiences with them. Nephilim was accounted to be very furious with a lot of people when he was young. It was quite a change to see a young child with a considered learning disability, slow learning acquisition and no detectable talent to grow into such a highly respected and esteemed Auror.
