Note: this lesson was mostly introduction and extra credit, so there wasn't a lot of work.
This is everything you need to know to pass the mandatory quiz.
*Ollivander and his family have been making wands since 382 BCE.
*Wizarding World separates from muggle world at 1000 CE
*Wizarding World ruled by the Council of Warlocks from 1000 CE to 1400 CE
*Witch burnings throughout the 1600s were ineffective due to the Flame-Freezing charm.
*The International Statute of Secrecy was introduced in 1689.
*ISS was used to protect witches/wizards and muggles from each other.
* The Decree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Sorcery was introduced in 1875.
*The first reported use of the Wand-Lighting charm was in 1772.
SPELLCASTING:
The Wand-Lighting Charm
Incantation: Lumos (pronounced ‘LOO-mos’)
Wand Movement: Single counter-clockwise loop
Willpower: Low; determines the color of the light
Concentration: Low; lighting up the top of your wand
EXTRA CREDIT:
Write an introductory essay explaining why you are interested in charms, what kinds of spells you want to learn, etc.
Explain how your charms journal will be written.
